Arunda, located at Meltina high above Terlan at around 1200 meters altitude, is the highest located sparkling wine cellar in Europe. Water Light Festival
From 24th April to 12th May 2024, the Water Light Festival will take place in Brixen, in the Neustift Monastery and in the Franzensfeste Fortress. This event enchants its visitors by illuminating the city with spectacular lights creating a unique atmosphere. More than 40 installations by internationally renowned artists, such as Stefano Cagol, Filip Roca, or Siegrun Appelt can be admired and are connected by a 3,2 km long blue line. This year's motto 'Water is Life - Light is Art' is closely linked to the themes of nature awareness and the sustainable use of water.
Verschneider Ritt
The Fire Brigade of Frassineto organise the traditional horse race "Verschneider Ritt", followed by the Feast of the Firemen. Various riders will put their riding skills to the test through a variety of games. The activity is held in the feast area "Schnappboden" in Verschneid.
Festival Piazza Gries
The festival begins on Saturday, 25 May at 5.00 pm with the traditional barrel tapping. There will be music, food and drink until 1.00 am. Ten clubs will cater for the physical well-being of the guests and offer - hopefully - something to suit every taste. The South Tyrolean Gardeners of Bolzano will be serving oysters and sparkling wine at their stand. They donate their net proceeds to families in need. On Sunday 26 May, the festival starts again at 10.30 am and continues until 1.00 am. There will be children's entertainment for the little ones, bands will play for all guests and various choirs will sing. There will also be other live music.
